Q. How many times have you been to the European Forum Alpbach?

A. I attended the EFA once as a curated participant in 2024.

Q. Why did you decide to go to EFA?

A. Attending EFA was recommended to me, and going there seemed like an excellent opportunity to meet new people and learn about important topics. I personally am very interested in European security, and particularly the security of the European neighbourhood and its implications for EU enlargement. There were a lot of panels at EFA on this topic and the discussions with experts on these subjects were valuable.

Q. Why did you decide to join the board of Club Alpbach Netherlands?

A. I thoroughly enjoyed the EFA conference and saw joining the board of CAN as a way to directly influence the future of the conference. It thereby seemed like a good opportunity to contribute to EFA’s mission of bringing together young people from around the world to generate ideas for a stronger and more democratic Europe. Additionally, the networking opportunities in the Netherlands are great, allowing me to stay connected with peers and participate in the events we organize as a board.

Q. What do you do outside of the EFA bubble?

A. I work for the government in the immigration department. I studied international relations and have lived abroad in South Korea and Slovenia, which continue to be areas of interest for me. In my free time, I enjoy reading and studying Northeast Asian security and the Western Balkans, as well as fiction. I also like to stay active by running and climbing.

Q. If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

A. If I were a dictator for a day, I would implement a comprehensive policy framework focused on preserving nature. This would involve enforcing strict environmental regulations that require industries to adopt sustainable practices and transition to renewable energy sources, significantly reducing emissions. Additionally, I would launch an ambitious reforestation initiative to engage communities in tree-planting efforts, revitalizing ecosystems and restoring habitats. Lastly, I would offer tax breaks and subsidies for individuals and businesses that embrace green technologies and sustainable agriculture.
